Council Tax Banding

Hi
have read all the stuff on the site about this but can't find anything covering this particular problem.
The house in question was bought in 2000 for £35000 as a repossession & is currently banded in band C as the council tax people tell me it was worth £60000 in 1991. Have checked the tables & if this was the case, band C is correct however, very similar size & actually bigger houses of my neighbours are banded as B.
Does anyone know any way that I can check the valuation of £60000 quoted by the council tax people to make sure it's correct?
thanks

thanks for the link but that takes me to current council tax valuations............I need something to check what the property would have been valued at in 1991 had it not been a repossession needing a lot of work done to it0

There is a page on there about what to do if you think it's wrong http://www.voa.gov.uk/news/information/your_council_tax_band.htm including a search to find what valuation bands other houses in the area come under and how the valuation is made. One day I might be more organised...........

You need to find the Rough value of your house at todays prices using the websites below-
http://www.nethouseprices.com/ or http://www.propertypriceadvice.co.uk/home/
Then you need to take that price back to 1991 prices using the site below
