topcashback unfair rip off

Options
:mad:I am furious. I signed up to topcashback last august following the idea that Martin sent on the email about getting £25 worth of car rescue cover for only £5. Well I just assumed that it would have been credited to my account but it hasn't. When I queried it, inspite of the fact that the site registeredthat I had indeed made a purchase with the rescue co through them, they said they couldn't chase the comission because more than 50 days had gone by.

Ok, I realise I've been tardy but why shouldn't it just credit to my account? They often specify that it may take 28 days for a credit to hit the account. In this case the credit should have been for £20, so a big chunk and the cover was an impulse buy so I do feel aggrieved.

What's more annoying is that topcashback don't have a contact us option so you're just left feeling robbed. Makes me feel that topcashback themselves are just sitting waiting for these errors to happen and collecting the cashback themselves. Topcashback? topripoff feels more accurate. Be warned.

To be fair this can happen with any cashback. I have chased cashback before and they have been fine. You have to chase it up early and not leave it so late, it does mention this

    http://www.topcashback.co.uk/missingcommission.aspx
    Missing Cashback Claim

    1) Only submit enquiries for genuine transactions, for which you have not returned any goods or cancelled your transaction for any reason. Any commission claims that are deemed to be non-genuine, fraudulent, goods which have been returned or as a result of abusive use of an offer will result in immediate account termination.

    2) Commissions are never guaranteed, we will do our best to reclaim your missing commission, but cannot guarantee a sucessful outcome.

    3) Commissions in some cases can take a long time (many months) before we receive a resolution. We ask that you are patient in receiving an outcome. However if you are able to return the goods for which you are due cashback then you should consider this instead of a submitting a commission claim.

    4) Please only submit one transaction on a claim. i.e. if your credit card was billed 3 times for 3 separate purchases then you need to submit 3 separate claims.
  • I've been chasing up cashback from quidco for almost 2 years, keep getting told that they keep sending off to company but i dont think they do. they also dont have contact info

  • Never used them trippy, so I don't know but I don't think I will now, there must be easier ways to be a money saver.

Poppycat, I take your point, and I was ridiculously late in checking. I just don't see HOW the payments can go astray in the first place, it's all computerised. I just think they realised in this case that they'd been too generous and didn't pay, whilst hoping enough people would forget to check so the headline rate looks good but the payout rate doesn't hurt them as much.

  • Even though I'm peed off with them quidco are probably the best. Only had the one problem but waiting almost 2 years for payment is taking the p1ss

at the edn of the day theres bad stuff about quidco and some about topcashback as well

you only have to read the other threads within the forum to show you the problems that people have been having.

to date i havent had any problems wirth topcashback but quidco have been slow with their replys and seinding out generic replys which never dealt with my raised ticket.

Have and do use Topcashback and quidco and i have to say re customer service Topcashback have been better. As for raising an enquiry i have had to raise 2 with top cash back one of which tracked but went to 0 they were great replied to my enquiry promptly and managed to track the enquiry to get the money. Where as quidco were a night mare i have had to put in 5 non tracking claims although they showed on the system as going through the site i have only gotten one back via a claim so far.

Really tho you can't blame top cashback they can't give you the money they cannot get themselves if the merchant refuses to pay up which was the case of littlewoods there is nothing they or you can do all they can do is put a claim in and hope for the best but if you failed to put a claim in well how is that their fault?

I'm a bigger fan of topcashback to be honest.

As a percentage Quidco has a much higher rate of not tracking/paying out.

With all due respect OP you have to accept responsibility. I've had things fail to track with topcashback, submitted enquiries and then been paid. You just missed the boat. :)

Sorry to re-start this vent, but i read thru some of the points and really needed to add my 2p worth!!
Is it only me or has anyone else been having probs with TCB tracking?. Every single transaction since sept with play.com has never tracked, this time around it was with comet.
I followed their advice to clear cookies etc, but how can the same thing happen from 3 different computers, all with their cookies cleared?!
Maybe, its time to return to quidco, but they charge & reading this don't always pay up :(, any advice how else (read reliable & not an absolute rip-off) i could use instead?
    Thanks in advance :)
No one said it was gonna be easy!
