I'm interested in using 1899 for calls from my mobile phone.
Although there is a news item on their front page which says that calls from mobiles have had a price increase, when I go to the price lists the costs of calling UK numbers (inc other mobiles) is the SAME for calls via 1899 or via their freephone 0808 number (which is the one I'd use from my mobile). i.e.:
UK rates pence/min
UK fixed lines ............................................. 0.0
UK mobiles (sat/sun) ....................................... 3
UK mobiles (weekdays) ...................................... 10
UK (070 Personal) .......................................... 15
UK (0845 Local) ............................................ 3
UK (0870 National) ......................................... 7
Is this correct?
18866 charge more for calls via their freephone number than via 18866 but it seems that 1899 charge the same for both.

That change was old news from November 2004. I use 1899 with my mobile and the prices using their 0808 access number are as advertised on their website. Be careful though as most mobile operators (except some orange contracts) would charge you (same as calling lindline fees) for the 0808 number.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

Fortunately I'm on one of the Orange tariffs that has free 0808 access. I'm currently using 18866, but 1899 seems to be substatially cheaper when calling other mobiles during the week:
18866: 14 p/min
1899 : 10 p/min
Looks like I'll need to move to 1899.
Thanks.
P.S. Is there some way of getting this bulletin board s/w to accept sections of fixed-width fonts (like html <PRE>) so that you can tabulate text?0
