Eon vs Swalec
Options
I have been with Eon (Powergen) since last June on the Energyonline Extra Saver Tariff (Dual Fuel) and have been paying monthly by direct debit (£36) and I have been quite satisfied with the service that they have provided.
Currently Eon's tariff is 19.41p for the 1st 104kWh use and 11.26p for secondary units used on Electricity and 4.352p for the 1st 308Kwh use and 2.774p Secondary units used on Gas. The online discount per month is 17%.
On Thursday, I signed up with Swalec (through a rep) but i'm debating as to whether I am having a good deal? I have signed up to the Moneysavers tariff and I am paying by monthly direct debit (£40). He advised me that I will be paying 13.95p for the 1st 365Kwh use on Electricity and 10.46p for the secondary units and 3.41p on the 1st 1143kWh of gas used followed by the secondary units at 2.41p. The discount available is 12% (6% Gas and 6% Electric) with a further 2% for online billing.
The Rep advised me that I will be saving £78 a year, is this correct?

Did you give the rep your usage figures?
It's a simple calculation to see if you would save but you need to know how many units you are actually using.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Hi Andy,
Thanks very much for your advice.
I will attempt to work this out from my last three bills and go from there to see if I am having a better deal.
Many Thanks0 -
Why on earth did you believe a rep telling you that you would save money , when you didnt tell him your usage figures
