  • This is appalling.
    The widows SHOULD be allowed to have the medals/badge and wear them if they so wish. I think families are entitled to some recognition of their families war contribution.

    My Grandad was told he would not get the veterans medal because, I quote, 'he was only in the administrative staff of the MOD during the war and therefore, not a veteran'

    His MP took it up and he got one in the end.
