Bank Giro Credit - 3/4 working days to reach account!!?

Probably a thread somewhere with regard to this but here goes.

Why, if i pay money into , say a Nat West credit card, using a bank giro slip provided on the bill, at a Nat West Bank does it take 3/4 working days to reach the credit card account whilst, if I take out cash at the very same counter using the same credit card the debit is made on the same day??

Silly question??

Go,s into a holding bank and then they use the interest gained to pay for the
bubbly at the shareholders meeting

Exactly, perhaps, when the bank charges issue is resolved, the the whole Bank 'clearance' issue should be addressed.

Whilst no doubt in the T&C how can this situation be considered 'fair' in legal terms as it is clearly grossly in the favour of one of the parties to the contract.

One for the not too distant future I hope!!
