I own a Canon EOS 300D and would like to purchase a lens for landscape photography. Could anyone give me some advice on which lenses that would recommend?

Hi vixstone, I'm sure you will get some good advice here, but I would also look at the camera forums on www.avforums.co.uk they have excellent info on a host of things camera based.0

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.0

Also check out the forums on http://www.dpreview.com/ There are forums that are specific to your camera and the question you're asking comes up quite often.
It's a bit hard to comment on what would individual lens be best for you without knowing your budget, but some things you'll need to consider:
1) A fixed focal length lens is generally better quality but less flexible than a zoom lens
2) You'll want a wide angle lens - consider something like 17-30 zoom, 17-70 as a more general purpose lens.
3) If you are only interested in landscapes, you won't need a lens with image stability (identfied by an IS on canon lens, OS on sigma lens)
I've always found http://www.warehouseexpress.co.uk/ very competitive on camera equipment, have a look there to get a feel for prices. They used to have a price match policy (the difference plus 10%) but I can't see any link to it on their website at the moment.0 -
Thank you for being so helpful. I have done a round of the photography forums and everything seems to point to the Canon EF-S 10-22 mm, I just wanted to make sure that that was the only one and I wasn't missing out on anything else. Any further advice gratefully received0

Just one more website that you might want to check! http://www.photodo.com/topic_47.html This website is dedicated to lens reviews, and this link takes you direct to the EF-S 10-22mm review.
Are you planning to upgrade the camera any time soon? I've always been a bit wary of the EF-S mount, as at some point I'd expect the full frame sensor cameras to become affordable, and I don't want to have to replace all lenses at the same time! Might just be worth checking if there is a EF mount lens that gives you the same performance.0 -
That is exactly what is putting me off of buying this lens, but at the moment it seems like the only lens that is suitable. Unless I am completely missing something. Thanks for the url.0

You could have a look at the sigma 12-24 EX DG lens. Similar price to the Canon (£428), but will also work with full frame cameras in the future. Alternatively, the Sigma equivalent to the Canon is nearly half the price (£289 with a slight loss of quality), so you would lose less if you do upgrade.
Tamron also do a 11-18 EF-S mount lens for £328.0 -
Has anyone any knowledge or experience of the Tokina 12-24mm?0
