Balance transfer question

Hi,

I took a life of balance transfer with Barclaycard last year at 6.9%. Again they are offering the same rate with no fee. After the transfer last year I cut the card up so as not to use it again. My question is if I transfer another balance on to the card how will this new balance transfer be treated when it comes to the payments. Will the first transfer continue to be payed of with my payments while the new transfer accrues interest at 6.9% or will it all be treated as one debt at 6.9%?

I dont know the answer but I can't see why it matters as the result seems to be exactly the same (i.e. same interest and same minimum payment)
