I have just been going through all the IB stuff and noticed that they STILL havent awarded him any points for his walking

    SO

If they were to go with the 200 yards that we *marked* on the original forms that would be another 7 points taking him to 23 ~ not that I'm gonna question that now, just an observation!!

    Mental innit

Does it get reviewed every so often? Maybe you could try to get the extra points then?

  • I never understand that system..how can you justify pain and walking with points..then get it wrong...bloody crazy.

Oh I see - I was thinking it was a sliding scale like with DLA. I suppose it would only be worth worrying about it they changed the number of points you need to qualify then.

Anyway, I am off to bed, but I am glad everything is okay - take care and will speak tomorrow no doubt! :)

    Crazy is the right word

For some bizarre reason they think he can walk over 800 yards without pain or discomfort

With yesterdays results I am prepared to let that lie for now but between you and me (and half a mil mse'ers ;) ) !!!!!! and !!!!!! :p

  • My neighbour struggles with this as well, and used to have the assessing dr come around and watch her walk up the path with the aid of a walking stick. And then down the road..she also piled weight on with her condition, and ended up with type 2 diabetes..

last time he commented on her being out of breath! And it was obviously hurting her..so why do it when it was as plain as the nose on his face?

Another friends husband has a crumling bone disease which has affected his spine a lot,Gp prescribed a pass so he could use gym and baths..he mostly swims..but they declined his application because he rides a bike to the gym..he can't afford a car or a taxi and it is part of strengthening excercises as he certainly couldnt walk there..i really don't understand them ..he has got itnow by the way, but really shouldn't have had to fight as hard as he has done to get it.

Random checks my OH gets called in every year even though on the letter when he passe (well I gues fail the medical really) they say it will be abother two years. They seem determines to keep the numbers on IB down and its the genuine claimants that get the hassle.

I understand about the points now tig I thought 16 was too low. Does he get DLA?
