Well it was a reference to one of his stories, where the relatives are at the graveside and a bag of quavers goes by...his fav crisps ..a sign...sorry if a bit obscure.
But it happened to us at a funeral as well and everyone ( cos we are in lancashire ) went ....its a sign!..It lightened the moment and was very reminiscent of the lady's sense of humour as well.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

We have been saying this all week and I *almost* said it in the funeral car but thought I better not ~ humour is my way out of everything but some things are just inappropiate
One thing that REALLY touched me today was an old man out doing his gardening when the hearse went past ~ and he took of his hat and stopped. Only lives up the road and I have never seen him before but I am tempted to go and tell him how much that meant to me.:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! I know, i didn't say it myself last week, but her daughters did..and then everyone grinned, as it was her mum's fav DVD.
It is lovely when neighbours do that. We all shut our curtains and collected for her last week. Everyone was lovely, and it does mean a lot..i think he will love it if you do thank him.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Its the little things aint it Tig. At OH's BIL's funeral a few weeks ago, I waited until the very end to walk in (cause mi car was parked some way away) and an old man with a stick allowed me to go first in to the church. I said thanks. Turned out it was his 82 year old dad who was a one night stand for his mother some 47 years ago. If I had known I would have insisted that he go first. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I believe in signs too.
When we first moved in here, searched high and low for the key to the windows.
We noticed a cupboard in the kitchen was always left open - I blamed DH, he blamed me but we were both sure we hadnt done it. This went on for a few weeks, before we noticed the key we were looking for was in the cupboard.
Tigs, I agree it was a lovely gesture of your neighbour to do that. Let us know what he says if you do pay him a visit. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:
