did you want to use this as a base for visiting the city centre because you are quite a way outside of amsterdam central0

I know that, but the impression i got from the website was that it was only a short tram-ride away. Is that right? We got a room for £50 a night, including breakfast which was cheaper than the 1* we had already booked where we were on the 5th floor with no lift and no breakfast. (I was convinced it was a brothel!! :rotfl: )
I've stayed in the red light district before and found it noisy when sleeping so don't mind being a bit out of the way this time....Undefeated Wii Fit ski jump champion!

just wanted to make sure that you realised, some friends of ours stayed outside city centre and found that they didnt enjoy it very much as the trams stop at about 11pm so they couldnt really enjoy the nightlife,it depends what you are wanting to do whilst there.sounds like you got a good deal though! i would never stay in a 1* in amsterdam some 3* are dodgy0 -
I've stayed there August 2006 and it's a great hotel. Approx 20 mins to centre and nothing in near area, but great as a base. Very modern arty hotel, good quality rooms and brilliant classy breakfasts. Train from airport to centre, then tram to hotel - no problems. Close to airport so taxi may be cheap - saves a lot of travel. Agree, great price for what you get.

Oh dear, i didn't realise the trams stopped at night. I thought they were 24 hour...
Any ideas on what a taxi would cost from the centre to the hotel?? Im quite excited now, leaving in an hour!!

Trams stop running just after midnight, but there are night buses.
