I bought my OH one like this for his birthday,it clips on the monitor or a shelf and has audio. The audio was perfectly okay for skype. You do get a better picture in a well lit area . Skype is free to download and free to use for computer to computer calls but you would have to pay to call a telephone with it. You can also type in a chatbox if you dont have audio.

Just being pedantic, but you should really have put a semi-colon (or maybe just a comma) after 'No'..No webcam use is free.
No; webcam use is free - using Live messenger or skype PC->PC is free, using skype (or any other VOIP firm) will cost you something to call a regular landline or mobile0 -

True, hadn't noticed I had missed out punctuation there. Have corrected the mistake. :-)It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Thanks for the tip, but I have a landline I can use to make free calls to other phones on. My VOIP stuff is purely PC to PC so again is all free!superscaper wrote: »I suggest reading Martin's article on it. I haven't used VOIP in years but last time I did there were companies like VOIPcheap and VOIPbuster etc where you simply put in €10 credit or something and landline calls within the UK were charged at 0p/min, i.e. free. And pretty much ANY VOIP service you looked at was cheaper than skype. The pen is mightier than the sword, and considerably easier to write with.
