Looks like a good deal that I may go for unless anyone has any better codes?

Is there a time limit on this onedah?

sound will be onboard, it usually is with Dimensions
  • I dont think it does include sound :S , speaking to a dell customer services person yesterday becuase their was a problem ordering a pc on their website and she said no sound card even though it comes with speakers , but i would presume it did have onboard sound , it does have onboard network

Probably does have onboard sound, but you can buy them and fit 'em for pennies. Also doesn't state anything about a graphics card, so I presume this would be onboard. It would be rather unfortunate if it doesn't have an AGP slot so you can't fit your own (to make it vaguely useful as a gaming machine)

yes the dell 3000 has an onboard sound card.

on motherboard graphics card. It doesn't have an AGP slot though.

I did a quick price comparison by specing the same machine using dells standard price structure. According to my calculations (could be wrong) these codes save just under £300!! Now that sounds like a bargain to me :j :j :j

    So, have just placed order.

    Many thanks onedah,

    Simon

If theres any chance of getting a laptop with this sort of saving.................

As the man says the Dimension 3000's do come with onboard sound hence the reason why they supply a set of 215 speakers...

I personally think it's an ok deal but for me the the cpu lets it down. It's not cost effective to upgrade to a P4 (Over £100 IIRC) but it does come with 1gb memory,160gb hard disk and a dvd writer though.£34 to upgrade to a E173FP (17in flat panel) is a worthwhile upgrade to make too for those of you considering a purchase!! :)

    Good luck
