Puzzled Bubbles - if you manage to quit smoking I'll be sooooo impressed. It really will save so much money.

I've listed 6 more books on Amazon so fingers crossed there. I'm going to list at least 10 items on ebay tomorrow. I WILL!!!!!

It just shows how much fags & booze adds up & well done to you & hubbie for doing something about it. We spend probably around £1k-£1.5k a year on booze which is also a huge amount. OH also smokes & all of her £20 that we allow ourselves each week goes on fags. She has cut down big time & I would love her to give up completely,as she could use the £20 for small treats instead or could save up for things she wants with it,but it's her choice at the end of the day & she realises that she cannot have any extra cash to buy more if she happens to run out,so makes sure that she doesn't smoke more than 10 a day at the most. My Uncle & Auntie gave up smoking a while ago. They gave up & put the equivalent amount to a pack of fags in a big whisky bottle, bagging the change & taking it to the bank every time they filled the bottle. After 3 years they saved £11k & bought a brand new car with it! It just goes to show!! Good luck!

Thanks for the support LTM - hubby has been saying for a while about cutting down but i think it is more for health reasons (he is getting a bit podgy and hates it) but im glad that he has said the extra cash will go on the cc, it makes it so much nicer to think that we are working on it together.

We are off on holiday in a couple of weeks so im going give up the day before we go (i only really smoke at work or in the pub so it will be no hardship to stop while we are away) and then hopefully by the time i get back from holiday the worst cravings will be gone and i can start a new routine at work.

I will put the £55.75 per month into my savings account along with everything else that i manage to make in this challenge and then i should start to see the benefit pretty quickly, i hope, lol
  • Nothing to add to my totals today, done some slice the pieing and added some money to my little piggy.

LOL those on slice the pie :rotfl: , I know exactly how you feel, I'm trying to motivate myself to do a £1 a day as its becoming abit of a chore now and I'm struggling with that!!

My motivation is that I'm hoping to re-invest half of my 'earnings' from it at the end of the month into the Bongo sites and to have a some fun and hopefully a little win. At least I won't be parting with my "own" cash if I lose.

I think I'm going to try e-bay to try and sell these things that won't sell in the free ads, I'm going to my sisters tomorrow so will get her to show me the ropes. She sold all my neices and nephews baby stuff on there and made nearly 1K!!

Anyway have a good weekend and keep going with those totals everyone is doing really well!! :T

I know the feeling about getting podgy. I too need to lose weight & drinking beer most nights isn't helping at all! Bought a mini gym & a load of weights of my mate for £50 a few months ago to save me money by not going to the gym & it still hasn't paid for itself yet:o ,so need to get motivated & spend more time using the minigym & less time in front of t.v. drinking!Glad to see you are working together,we have had our ups & downs like anyone else during our DFW journey, but we know we are in this together & my OH cutting down from 20 to 10 fags a day is a massive achievement & although I have never smoked,I can imagine how hard it is to cut down or give up. Have a great holiday & well done for giving up,you're right, you will start to quickly see the benefits.

I did a Pinecone survey this morning, which will bring me in £4, but I won't add that until it's recieved. I've just listed a couple of items on ebay which I've been meaning to do for weeks now.

Last night I signed up to King Jackpot Bingo through Wepromiseto.co.uk. I had to deposit £10, but should be getting £40 cashback, although it's not showing yet, which is making me a little nervous, as I've never used that particular cashback site before  It's a little soon to worry yet though.

    :p

Oh, and just to say that everyone is doing fantastically well. Thank you for continuing to inspire me every day and congratulations on all the great totals.

Oh, and by the way, I mentioned that I had money stuck on Speedferries, someone wisely advised me to play through and not bother trying to withdraw. Well, I got frozen out of their site again (their fault this time) so the money is just going to stay because I can't even be bothered anymore.

Especially since (and this is the point of the post) I discovered that my credit card has charged me a £6 fee for a gambling transaction (look who never read the t&cs :o) So be careful if you're depositing or withdrawing money onto a credit card that it's not going to cost you more than you're getting back if your CC charges similar fees.

Nowt for me yesterday and just 47p today!

Still waiting on around £20 for payments for ebay items, all apparently in the post but not with me yet, grh  added to my bank declining my amazon transfer for no reason (really want to get away from my bank as they're awful) it's a bit frustrating.

Items ending tomorrow and monday so hopefully should be able to add to my total soon. Counting money when it's in my paypal/amazon/bank/hand so all my other clicks haven't been counted.

Any ideas on what I should do with the £10 amazon e-voucher when it arrives? Sell it or is ther anything worth buying to resell?

Off to make a very late dinner tonight, the boyfriends been at work all day so we're using up some stuff from the cupboards, spiced onions and a curry, yum!
