Car insurance should I be a student or unemployed

I am a student classed as full time on an 18 week course which ends in June. I am still on benefit of Income Support and New Deal so I am technically still unemployed. Having gone through the websites it is cheaper for me to be unemployed to get car insurance than a student. Some companies won't even quote when I put in student.
What advice can anyone give me?
Thanks

You should put yourself as a student if you are a full time student. Then advise the insurer in June of any employment or unemployment.0

If you are a student, you should say you are a student.
I can't stress enough how much bother you could be in if you decide to put unemployed, have an accident, it comes to light you are a student & your insurance company says they would not have taken you had they known. You could end up with no insurance, knee deep in trouble from the accident with a potential no insurance conviction, depending on the leniency of the police & even more trouble getting further insurance having to disclose the cancellation.0 -
i suppose it depends how lohave been driving. I'm a student too (over 21, driving longer than 5 years) and have had no trouble getting quotes on a student basis. You might do best to ring them up and query this.x0

I am a student but still registered for Income Support through New Deal. It is cheaper to be unemployed for car insurance purpose. I have been driving on a full licence for almost 23 years!0
