Have just had the strangest phone call.. from Sky.
Have been a sky customer for nearly 9 years and never had a call from them.
The caller 'claimed' my repair policy for my sky+ box had expired and asked what I proposed to do about it?
I told him that I had not received a letter recently and that our cover was on rolling protection anyway unless we cancelled it was automatically renewed.
I then said to him, its strange he is calling cos sky have never called since we had sky installed. I asked him if he could identify himself as being from sky. (Keeping my manners and not being rude to him btw)
He said something like.. 'What do you want me to DO about it??'
and hung up on me!
Beware all. I phoned Sky and the operator said that any call from them they would ask for our password anyway. She is now investigating whether or not this caller WAS from them. I said if it was then this guy needs a lesson in customer services!!

Ta for that.
Luckily I am savvy enough not to give out the details. Someone won't be though....0 -
Yes - I used to get letters from an organisation that seemed to claim that I had out of date Sky hardware which needed to be protected as it was out of warranty.
I knew it was a scam of some kind because I had never had any Sky services but clearly a lot of people have. Just because an organisation knows you name, address and phone number does not mean they know about your Sky equipment - they just guess that you have it.0
