I'd put it in alliance and leicester's e-saver. The only problem with the account, which has an interest rate of 6.5%, is that if you do take any money out, then you don't get any interest that month. So you should put only money in that you don't intend touching for the foreseeable future - say £15k.

Withdrawals are penalty-free in July, and at other times the penalty is mostly avoidable, apart from transfer time to another account.
