USB 2.0 help

Hi there, hope someone can help.
I recently bought a second-hand Toshiba R100 laptop which I'm well pleased with but there is one thing I can't fix. This laptop has two USB 2.0 ports but when I connect a printer into either it says something like "this device will work faster on a hi-speed port". I went into the hardware settings of the laptop and the ports are standard speed. Is there any way I can enable 2.0 for these? I don't have any recovery discs or drivers. I've searched the net but all the "fix your USB problems" I found relate to registry errors. The Toshiba tech page does not have the USB drivers listed for this model either.
Thanks, Matt

Your laptop is ~probably~ using the generic USB drivers that are shipped with Windows.

Manufacturers often lump all of the motherboard device drivers together in a single download - often just called "chipset drivers" or similar. Hidden within that should be the driver for the on-board USB devices.

On THIS page, enter your model etc etc....... search for ALL DRIVERS, NOT JUST USB, and you will find it near the bottom of the list......also the chipset drivers are there as well,
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

I reckon it is more than likely as aknot said.

If the laptop has a pcmcia slot you could use one of these
