Is £490 for 20 hours with the AA a good deal? this is in London.

Also, is there any option of cashback or discounts available, this is all new to me as I don't drive. The lessons would be for my DD's 21st in April

Any help would be gratefully received

Thanks :T

    AA charge VAT - find a local instructor who doesn't charge VAT and you will save 17.5% immediately. I wouldn't book 20 lessons in one go either - what if DD doesn't get on with the instructor?

    Ask daughter to find out who her friends have used - personal recommendation is always the best way when it comes to driving lessons. Book two lessons a week too - less time to forget things.

    Thanks, I did look on Tesco but the 4 lesson package is only usable once per learner driver.

  • I would recommend a female instructor for your daughter when my sister took hers she thought the bloke was eyeing her up all the time so either get a woman or a bloke who has a a good reputation with other girls.

    Also check the instructor is an qualified instructor not just a trainee BSM are the worst for this so if anything use another company or a private person.

    private instructors are way better
    from my experience most aa instructors try to make you do more lessons then you actually need.
    go to an instructor who is known by your friends or somebody to be a good instructor and to be quite busy (busy instructors won't really need you to do more lessons than you

    I hated the female instructor I had, she shouted at me all the time, got on much better with the male instructor and passed my test first time.
