Selling a repaired car

Hi, my first post :hello: ,hope someone will be able to give me some advice on this.
I had an accident in my car a few weeks ago where the rear passenger door, front bumber, bonnet, and driver side headlight were damaged. The car has been taken to repairer and the insurance company has approved all repairs.
When the car has been repaired I think I'm going to trade it in as I don't think I will feel happy driving it again. What I wondered is if the repairs will show up on a HPI check or if I have to declare them when I trade the car in.
I've tried to find information on this but all I can find is if a car has been wrote off and what group it would be in. So I assume that the car will not be listed in any sort of group as I'm worried that the repairs will affect the trade in value i can get.
Many Thanks
David

Was it actually written off and you bought back vehicle from insurers? Or was it just a bump that the insurers paid for repairs?
If it was written-off then it will (probably) show on HPI
If it was the 2nd then no it won't

I thought the same as you Smi1er.
Its not suffered any major damage to make it unsafe to drive surely? Sounds to me like panel damage

No its not been wrote-off its just been damaged and the repairs paid for by the insurer. I know it shouldn't been unsafe to drive and the damage is probably only cosmetic its just I really don't want the car back.
I just keep thinking that every time I drive it I'l be think about what happened; I know that to some that may sound silly but I'd rather just swap it for a different car. Also the insurance on the car is really high anyway and with the car I'm looking at I'd actually get money back even with the claim.

Won't show up on HPI then.
I know what you mean about driving it again, I was the same after a bump few years ago, but I forged on and the feeling went away after few months and I was fine driving the car then.
Your choice, and if it saves you money then happy car shopping!

Thanks for the advice, I suppose I might feel different if I give it a few weeks and if I still feel the same then change the car. At least if it doesn't show on a HPI check then I shouldn't have to tell the garage unless they ask and so should loose too much if I trade it in.

I know what you mean about wanting rid of the car - I've just had mine back after my daughter hit a lampost head on after hitting black ice.
If we'd have gone through the insurance it would have been written off but it has cost us less, long term , to get it repaired at our own cost as the excess for dd was £500 and it's costs us £570 to get repaired - new bonnet, bumper, radiator, slam panel etc.
She drove it last night and said it's now horrible to drive it, plus I wont trust it again - I've never liked it anyway, it's a corsa and I'm used to much bigger cars. I'm going to sell it and get a cheaper, larger car that I will feel safer in."There is a light that never goes out"0
