Little Pickle's Savings Diary

Hello all,

I know that DFW is the usual place for diaries, however, my situation has changed recently.

After a long chat with Mr Pickle, we have decided to use his savings to clear my debts.

He has always said that his savings are 'our savings' as they are made up of mostly yearly bonuses from his work.

His reasoning is that we are a team and the money is for our future. He's lovely! :D

Anyway, we are looking at getting some savings accounts / ISAs together after April and are looking forward to saving more for our future!!!
Hopefully this money will be for a bit of travelling, paying off the end of his student loan and hopefully one day soon, the savings will go towards our first home!

I'll be saving what I can and sticking it into the savings accounts on a weekly basis. Mr P earns a fair bit more than me, so he will probably always be able to put more away than me!

The plan is to start saving a weekly amount of £100.
If I can budget well, I can put more in if I am flush.

Sadly, I can’t start saving my weekly amount until around the end of April but until then, I will save anything I can in a little jar!
I will also eBay anything I can and add that too.

Sorry about the long first post!

Righto.... another brainstorm... a bit closer to the dream of a house!

We need to find......£30,000.00 by the end of the year!!!

This will cover deposit and stamp duty + all other moving costs.
we already have within the regon of £6k, so really only need to find £24,000

The reason it has to be by the end of the year is becuase this is when we would love to buy a house!

It's a long shot, but darn it!, we're gonna try! :D

£26k by end of the year?

I think some seriously budgetting is going to be needed :P

Asda for shopping, no holiday, etc. But to be fair, it does depends on how much you earn...

    Good luck!

well if you can save £24k, in eight months, 3k a month, you are on a fairly healthy income, 30k deposit, (5% ish) means a house over half a million, good luck, keep the dream alive.

Well you never know your luck little pickle, as mortgages are getting more difficult to obtain, property prices might come down, so you might be able to manage two bedrooms.
