I have used this in my last two houses.

Easy to lay, easy to clean and warm underfoot. Get some samples.

I thought laminate flooring looked lovely until I viewed a couple of places with it in and it was really hollow, I think it should have a special underlay and that makes it expensive. I ended up buying a vinyl that looks like wood flooring much easier to clean and warmer under foot.

I also found a little carpet shop and he did me brilliant deals on carpet fully fitted with underlay that made it pointless trying to lay ourselves. It's well worth a quote from a indepenant normally much better quality and cheaper than carpet right and allied carpets.
  • Just go for a cheap carpet or vynil, these are the cheapest option. However dont expect it to last too long. Vynil will probably be the most durable. Either that or get a middle range laminate that will last a little longer.
