No Elect Statement for 9 months
Hello all.
I am with British Gas (say no more!) and pay both gas and elect by monthly direct debit. I haven't had an electricity statement since June 2007 and despite repeated 'phone calls requesting one I am getting nowhere. I have been told that there is an 'X block' on my electricity account and have been promised months ago that it would be removed but it hasn't up until now. I don't know what an 'X block' is, but my direct debits have been paid on time, I don't owe any arrears, so can't think what the problem is.
I wonder if someone can advise me as to how I can get some closure on this.
On a plus note - I had a new gas boiler fitted in November and my winter bill went down by almost 30% based on an average of the last four years. British Gas have just reduced my monthly direct debit by 25% and paid a £135 credit into my bank account, both without any prompting from me!
Many thanks,
Tony

Ring them up again, get the name of the person you spoke to and what they agreed to do, so you can have a statement.
Then get their supervisors name and email address and email them with your request.

I've got the name of everyone I've spoken to and the dates on which I called them. One of the people was a manager who promised me it would be sorted out within 4 weeks - that was in January!
Apparently it's physically impossible for them to raise a statement with this block on - the computer won't allow it.
I 'phoned them three days ago again and told them if I didn't get a call back that day saying it was sorted I would cancel my direct debit and change supplier. That worked - NOT!

It took me a year to get BG to register me, and send a bill, and because there was more than a year without a bill I was given £22.63 compensation. No idea what an x block is, ring them up and ask to speak to management, tell them that you will withold payment if it isnt sorted, and would like some compensation0

These blocks can now be removed. Ask to be transferred to department to action.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
