Friday 28/03/2008 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I have /will
  • Checked online banking -
  • Done clicks
  • Storecupboard meals
  • Cooking for oldies tonight so will be eating for free:D
Can't think of anything else at moment will update later. Really windy here today hope everyone is okay. have a good day. Happy Friday to all those at work - tomorrow is the weekend:j

Haven't seen splishsplash around for a while, hope everything is okay, if you are reading this splishsplash:hello: .

  • I have been paid today and transfered all the money out to various DD accounts. Even put some away for savings which is a first.

    - Post some ebay items.
    - Eat work lunch.
    - Eat tea at Mums.
    - Fill car up at cheapest petrol station (or get clubcard points at least).
    - Spend £15 at pub then get a lift home.
    - I WILL NOT GET A TAKEAWAY.
    - Resist believing I am rich because its pay day.
    - Budget for May.

    I have to agree, I love sorting out my bank accounts on payday.

    I guess today's dfw things for me are:
    - Bringing lunch to work
    - Not getting a takeaway drink on the way to work
    - Keep looking to see if any mystery shops come up
    - Eating from the freezer for dinner instead of getting takeaway

    Happy dfw-ing everyone!

    So far today, I have eaten a free Subway 6" breakfast egg and cheese sub with a coffee that cost £1.19;
    Checked Quidco, and I'm due £30 to be paid during March;
    Signed up for matched shares at work which means that for every £25 worth of shares I buy each month, they'll give me £25 worth of shares free too :money:

    P.S. I also got confirmation that direct debits have been set up for 2 credit cards to make the minimum payments and keep me right. The intention being to pay extra manually too.
    Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

    I have been terrible recently and have not been particularly money saving. In fact life has been pretty rubbish recently as my boyfriend split up with me and I'm really upset, so have been in the rut of comfort spending.

    However, I'm back on the wagon and back on my challenges now (olympic and £20 k ones).

    Therefore today I have pulled myself together and kicked myself in the bum to get on with life and prove to myself that I'm worth more!
    October make £10/day currently £11.02
