Anybody had a further 6 mo. 0% from First Direct recently ??
My wife's & my FD Black 6 monthers are expiring shortly. Months ago there were threads about converting to a Gold card & getting another 6 months. When I investigated on-line however, only a low percentage rather than 0% seemed to be offered. Is this the "Norm" now, does anybody know?

First Direct no longer offer 0% cards.
However HSBC (the parent bank) still do. I checked with them and asked if I could directly transfer but they said no as they trade separately. So I canceled the FD card and will shortly apply for an HSBC one.
I am hoping HSBC can look at my FD account and therefore give me the same generous credit limit but I have a sneaky feeling the two are in competition with each other and may not share info. Worth a try though.
No BT fees on the HSBC card but it is only 0% for 6 months.0 -
Thanks, Reaps -- I already have an HSBC card - with a inferior c/l to the FD card...Expect the worst & hope for the best...0

ALL credit providers report to agencies - FD may be using Equifax/CallCredit instead of Experian or vice versa. It is likely that HSBC will use the same one.0 -

Not true I'm afraid...!
FD does not show up on any of the 3 CRA's all which I have checked in recent months and can confirm having held various FD products over multiple years. Believe they will report to agencies only when defaults occur for example...
They build/retain their own records.....hence my questions about HSBC as I have never dealt with them and seek verification on this!
Can anyone confirm for me please?Beware Lego Men with Deep pockets...! :cool:0
