Transition Period HB TO LHA?

Hi guys, I will soon be signing off from JSA to start work as a locum as full time work has been hard to come by in my profession. Being that I will be self employed and making virtually no real wage for myself for the first year due to setup costs etc every penny will help.

So there will be a break from signing off from JSA to having my claim excepted for WTC, obviously I will need to notify the council but does anyone know how long this can take or is there some form off fast track etc to get things rolling.

And I am guessing HB will have seized to exist so I will go on the new scheme

And would I be best off trying to apply for a crisis loan in that period to assist in with the cost of my rent as I dont really want to get on the wrong foot of my landlord. (How long does this normally take to be processed)

Once again many thanks for the help.
