Just a quickie.I've noticed that I have an 'offer for you' of a loan on my Halifax account that I may make use of in the near future.
If I decide to take up the offer will I still be credit checked ?

as far as I know, you'd still be subject to the same checks as if you were a new customer. On the basis of the info they have on you at the minute though they are saying they might offer you a loan - subject to status.
The banners or messages do have a disclaimer.
So yes, a credit check would be carried out.0 -

Can't comment on their loans*, but I had two separate credit card 'offers for you' earlier this year...and I took them up on both of them (it would be rude not to!
).
With each one I called Halifax and was told because I was a 'preferential customer' I would not be externally credit searched, ie they would base their decision purely on current account conduct and 'throughput'.
* Other than to say that Halifax say this offer is based on the most up to date 'debt' information they have on you, ie from the last time they externally searched your file.0 -
For the loans it depends on how much you want to borrow, they will have an amount on their system that you would be guaranteed ( no credit search) and if you want more than this or your details have changed dramatically then you would be credit searched. The two best things I have done with my life
