Many headlining it.
Here's a selection.Nationwide, the UK's largest mortgage lender after Halifax, said today that it wanted to turn away business to take greater control over the amount it lends.
From tomorrow it will increase the rates on its tracker deals by more than half a percentage point in an attempt to become less competitive.
http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/economics/article3632616.eceNationwide plans a dramatic withdrawal of some of its best deals from the mortgage market tomorrow, in a further sign that Britain's banks and building societies are cutting back on lending amid the crisis in the credit markets.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2008/03/27/cmnationwide27.xmlNationwide announced it is actively seeking to turn away borrowers by hiking rates as new figures reveal mortgages for home buyers have plummeted by a third.

No flirting please
At this rate, you'll both be like a couple of pigs in !!!!!! :rotfl: 0 -
It's supply and demand. Money supply falls, price of money rises. I bet that M4 (a measure of the supply of money) will be shown to be falling in the next month or so.0

I'll go halfers on it with you, you can have (most of) the house - I'll (mostly) live in a hut in the woods. I'll just need room with broadband.
ps. Tried to stalk you on okcupid, but without any success."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

Broadband - in the countryside - more of a fantasy than a bargain good life pad.
When we asked BT for broadband at our Scottish house they just laughed. The one we were buying in Shropshire had a maximum speed of 256kps if it worked at all, according to BT, and the latest one was 8 miles from the exchange and had a DACS unit............0 -
Sounds good, except I don't want most of the house. I only need a tiny corner/couple of rooms.Guy_Montag wrote: »I'll go halfers on it with you, you can have (most of) the house - I'll (mostly) live in a hut in the woods. I'll just need room with broadband.
Broadband is a MUST.
All I want/need is: a sunny/southfacing lounge/diner leading onto a conservatory. Bedroom/bathroom. And BROADBAND.
I don't mind doing all that home cooking thing if you're out there growing stuff. So you can pop along for your tea each night if you want.
Blimey, you ARE desperate! By "stalk" do you mean looked/couldn't find? Or looked/found but I never replied?Guy_Montag wrote: »ps. Tried to stalk you on okcupid, but without any success.
*insert some filler about Nationwide, rates, libor, where things are headed so it doesn't look like a veer off topic there*0 -

I searched for "PasturesNew" when I noticed your sig line. That didn't work so I gave up - I'm kinda apathetic as stalkers go. Mostly I was hoping for a pic.
Anyway, what should we do with the rest of the house? I suppose we could turn it into some sort of MSE HB,R,S&P (& GHPC) commune?
Edited to add: We could get Generali in to day trade to help ends meet if we could get broadband."Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

To be honest, re buying anything at the moment, I'd question your sanity.... I'm waiting until about 2011-2013.
P.S. I just stalked you on there ... and I am old enough to be your mum
But you're only 28 miles away0 -
