Why not a posh bra in a co-ordinating colour, and make it look like part of the dress? If not, I think you can get chicken fillet thins that sit underneath and give you a boost.
This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

Current Pay Off Target : £1500

Or tape em up from underneath ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

This is just my opinion but you did ask :D

As far as boobage is concerned - do you have a proper old fashioned lingerie shop anywhere near you? Take your dress with you and see what they say.
I have a lace up back dress and went into the local shop and discussed options and because I'm a 36DD the stick on versions just weren't an option - I wouldn't have felt safe at all. I now have a nude body suit thing with detachable straps and a clear strap across the back to hold everything together - not very sexy but does a fantastic job. :rotfl:

As far as jewellery I don't think I would wear necklace with the cowl neck unless it was maybe a short string of quite chunky pearls.

I would probably go for something like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Silver-feather-diamante-crystal-fascinator-Wedding-Ball_W0QQitemZ130220617032QQihZ003QQcategoryZ1063QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
in my hair no necklace and possibly a diamante bracelet.

Do you have any friends who could lend you something to experiment with? Could cover your something borrowed as well.

  • Crikey, I am such a botherer!

The dress has now been reduced and I've got a 20% code off a kindly MSE er which with free delivery means it would now be £78!!!

Am wondering if I should get a 14 as well at this price - I really like the dress and if it gets close to the day and doesn't fit I think I'll have all one trying to find a suitable replacement.

The 8, 10 and 12 are all sold out, I have almost 2st to lose, but am about to give up smoking (eeeek) so weight loss will prob be harder from experience

Am I being daft buying 2 dresses the same, or as they are soooooo cheap and I love it, would I be mad not to?

Just a quick thought - it says you are hoping to get married "next August" in your original post - if you mean August 2008, I would be very wary of trying to lose 2 stone in such a short time. If you meant August 2009, I would say you had a good chance of losing it by then.

Good luck with the wedding, anyway - I'm sure whatever you wear you'll look lovely - brides always do :)

You have already got a 12 haven't you?

Personally if I loved it that much I would buy it. Look at it this way you have a dress for £200 (size irrelevant)

Cost of average wedding dress - I dread to think.

Can sell one on eBay as new afterwards and won't have to pay for either to be altered - possibly saving cost of 2nd dress

Reduction in stress level priceless :rotfl:

DOnt try to lose too much weight for your wedding. Its better to put a bit less pressure on yourself!
i didnt wear a bra under my wedding dress and I was fine, boob tape in the right places may do the trick.
I think you should get whichever dress is closest to your size.
you dont want to do a crash diet 'for the wedding' then put it all back on again.
My bridesmaids were all different shapes sizes ages and colours so I just let them all choose a dress which would suit them, different shades of blue except dd whose dress was ivory like mine.

I hope you have bought the size 14. Comment about is right about pressure to loose weight can soemtimes be a good thing , sometimes not. PLUS you will be able to sell it on and it is now £98 -20% = £78.40!!
Green and minimal chemicals is the new black- I know a fair old bit about sustainability, specially energy and transport stuff. If I can help- please ask!
  • THanx all - I also called/txted all my friends who said no - one citing it as a demotivator to weightloss!

Anyhoo after a few yeses on here and OH saying it would be one less stress come the time I ordered the 14 - yes I already had the 12, with the 20% off both ;)

I was just having nightmares thinking I would have to 'panic buy' a dress with 1 or 2 months to go and poss end up getting married in a dress I don;t like, or embarking on some stoopid crash diet (I'm not generally given to that sort of thing, but who knows, when the pressures on like that?)

Thanx again for voices of reason
