Bank for 17 year old - Barclays or Lloyds

This question is on behalf of a friend. I've given him my advice already and told him to go with Lloyds over Barclays, however he wanted me to ask on here for him.

He's 17 and has a part time job. Not sure of what he's earning. He wants a current account, however he is not sure which bank to go with. He currently has a Nationwide account, but they will only give him a cash card and not a debit. He also wants a Internet Savings accoun, but I know both banks offer this.

The two banks nearest to him are Lloyds and Barclays, so one of those would be best, but if you think another bank would be better, please suggest.

Thanks.
