Hiya there,
I was wonder if you can help me, I recently bought a pair of trousers with was in the colour of browny/sand colour. But when I have received the item I got the pair of trousers but in a purple colouir which was nothing like the one I bought from his listing.
Do I have the right to get a full refund inc p&p charge? As The trousers that I have received was not the same colour as the listing, He did'nt mention what colour it was but I assumed that it would of been the one in the listing, and his excuse was when I emailed him about it after, 'There is only one pair and you can see by the two photos that the Ebay photo transfer system is very unreliable.' But should'nt he of given some kind of warning to buyers on ebay on his listing? I mean, this guy has over 10,000 F/b on 99.4%

full refund of item costs yes...... postage costs no.....
did you pay via paypal?
if so, raise a a chargeback.
If the item listed wasnt describe or mentioned that the photo used was for dsiplay purposes then he is at fault and should be reported to ebaysmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

I'll probaby get shot for this but you should have asked before bidding if the colour wasn't listed. Monitors can vary - for example I'm at work at the moment. The lass next to me has the same screen saver. However the colours in hers look totally different to mine. There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

I think I agree with the above, you just have to have your wits about you on ebay. If the colour wasn't stated then it's open to debate on how you see the picture displayed.
Same thing goes for items that don't have condition stated, you need to ask Q's and make sure it's what you think it is before buying.
I hope you get the problem resolved though.0 -
Ok, I am getting the feeling that the seller seems to be slightly patronising in his emails and has given me a link called colour real.
And just to test if it has anything to do with my computer screen, can you peeps check this item up and tell me dos it look anything like dark purple?

BTW thanx for all advice above!!0 -
looks grey / brown to me
defo does not state purple anywhere in the auction, nor do any purple pictures show
seller has made a mistake here
concerningly, for a powerseller, they have not listed postage?, how much did you pay?
i'd ask 'em for a set, as per the colour on the picture of that auction, and see what happens,
unfortunatley tho, you've lost your postage :-(money saving my @rse.
I've spent 10x as much as I would if I had never discovered this website :-)

They look brown in the first pic, grey in the second pic.
It says this on the auction -
Scans/Photos:
We provide images of every item we sell and all the photos and scans in our auctions are of the actual item you’re bidding on, except where identical items are offered in different sizes. They are taken by us and are not downloaded from any external source. If the actual colour if of utmost importance, lease check by email the accuracy of the photograph.
I would have thought that if the "Ebay photo transfer system" is unreliable, the trousers would look a slighty different shade. There's no way they would look a completely different colour.
I list items for someone, the pics have to show every detail, they've never changed colour when I've uploaded them.Bulletproof0 -
I've looked at the auction and I don't think you will have any luck either with getting a refund from the seller or via a paypal chargeback for item not as described.
I have never seen so many terms and conditions from a seller, I particularly like the bit about how they do not allow bidders to retract their bid...I'd like to see them try and stop someone! A power seller with all that feedback and all those many terms and conditions isn't likely to be the easiest person to deal with. They also appear to have colour image problems as they state quite clearly that if colour is important to email them before bidding.
As for paypal as a colour was not stated they will almost certainly not find in your favour for item not as described especially when the two photos appear to show two totally different colours.
I think you may have to chalk this one up to experience.

Well I paid 3.50 for postage, which yes is abit of a rip off, but I accepted that and was willing to pay for that amount, but If I think that the item this guy has sold me is different to the one from the description I think that it would be more fair if I got a full refund. But reading all the posts here - I doubt it.
I am aware that the two pictures are different colour, I was aware of that as I did'nt mind either colour or one that comes near it. But I certainly did'nt know it would've of been completley different like dark purple!! I dont think the guy remembers what he sent me.
Nevermind, I will carry on with the refund with or without the postage, I am trying to be as polite to him as possible and I dont want to look like some nuisance buyer.
Thanx again for all your advice and help!0 -

Why? If the seller's description was inaccurate, why should the buyer suffer? I thought the contract was for the goods as described, for the total price agreed, including postage?Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0
