I got all excited having prorammed my Orchid diallers, signed up to 1899 and 18185, phew!, job done, now to enjoy the costs being saved.
Now she who must be and several of our regular telephone partners have been commenting on the poor line quality - crackling, sounding distant, low volume, cutting out (like mobile).
Is this a common phenomenon?
I am using Panasonic DECT phones but these have up to now been fabulous.
If others suffer this, would Primus be any better?

You get the odd noisy line - put the phone down and redial and it's fine.
Sign up to Primus for free evening & weekend 01/02 calls - using 18866 1899 or 18185 during the day. Been doing it for several years - brilliant!0 -
Redialling is fine with Primus in the evening and weekends but the others charge a connection fee everytime you redial.0

We probably get 1 in 100 noisy connections via 18866
Worth it compared to the cost of alternatives0 -
Only ever had two or three dodgy connections since using this group from about 4 weeks after they started up.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
