Fed Up with Powergen
Just received this email this morning after they doubled my monthly direct debit last month...
Dear ****** ********
Your energy account is changing
From 31 August 2005, your combined gas and electricity unit prices will rise by around 17p# a day. You'll find a table detailing the new charges below.
As you pay by monthly Direct Debit, your payment may change as a result of this price change and we'll let you know if this is the case.
Why the increases? Since November 2004, wholesale energy costs for all energy suppliers have gone up on average by 23% for electricity and 35% for gas. As we also use gas to produce electricity, this makes electricity more expensive. What's more, the UK's gas supply is declining, so we're investing millions into importing gas, securing reliable energy and building renewable energy sites.
Now for some great news. As you're an EnergyOnline customer, we've increased your existing discounts to now save you ?50 a year on your energy bills.
We're also giving you the opportunity to take HeatCover* from Powergen. For ?14.99 a month, you'll have more peace of mind that your boiler is safe and working efficiently. Sign up today and we'll give you the first 3 months' cover free. Don't miss out - the offer ends 31 October 2005.
We hope we've explained why the price rises are necessary and that we aren't the only supplier experiencing these cost increases. Rest assured, we're doing all we can to cut your costs. That's why, we're offering you vouchers that could reduce your energy bills by up to ?178+ a year. Simply click here to find out more. We're looking forward to helping you save energy and money.
Yours sincerely,
Elaine Harley

i am fed up with them too.. they are sposed to have swopped my gas and electric to them.. whilst the gas was done no problem many weeks later i am still waiting for the electric to be transferred
i assumed goin to a bigger company would make them more organised after my debacle with Scottish power.. obviously not .. maybe i should try a small independent company who actually gives a damn about their customersWhen you know better you do better0 -

We've got the opposite problem. Took them 4 months to transfer our electricity but 10 months after the original transfer application they still haven't transferred our gas. Powergen and British Gas keep blaming each other and the gas transporter (which is another BG company, British Gas Connections).
Now Powergen have to do some kind of data fix (which takes 4-5 days) after which it will be another 16 business days before our gas gets transferred to them. They're hoping to have it transferred on 30 Aug - that means it will have taken 46 weeks to transfer it!!!!
:eek:No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.0 -
if you're using uswitch to change provider then let me know - we can both get a £10 amazon voucher I think0

Rec'd an e-mail asking to submit my meter readings in the next ten days. Clicked on the link, logged in and was told that I could not enter any meter readings. Clicked on view bill details and was told that it was not possible to view. Therefore have no idea of my gas or electric usage.
Very frustating !!!!!Matched betting profits since 11/10/06 = £1,5540
