Round trip - Singapore & Dubai

Hi,

I'm planning on visiting a couple of friends in early August. One in Dubai and one in Singapore. I'm looking to fly, ideally from Manchester, although if there is a decent reduction in price, I would travel down to Heathrow or Gatwick.

I have seen a flight from Emirates, that goes from Manchester to Dubai then to Singapore and back to Manchester (all direct)

This would be from 1st - 15 August (a week at each location) all this comes to £918.40.

Does this sound like reasonable price, or can any one suggest other companies that could offer cheaper? Any guidance for such a flight would be great.

Thanks for any help received. :D

    Hi there

I'm not an expert on this sort of thing but I just wondered if you had to travel on those dates? Just checked Opodo and found these results for Emirates:

    Dep 18 Jul: £904
    Dep 25 Jul: £904
    Dep 1 Aug: £904
    Dep 8 Aug: £904
    Dep 15 Aug: £685
    Dep 22 Aug: £620
    Dep 29 Aug: £535
    Dep 5 Sep: £535

If you could travel 2-4 weeks later than your original date then the savings are quite considerable!

Check prices flying to Abu Dhabi rather than Dubai - they are only 40 miles apart and flights tend to be cheaper.

Do as Davey suggest. Etihad to Singapore via Abu Dhabi (from Manchester). Save £200 if you can come back on 16th August. They also chuck-in an Abu Dhabi Airport - Dubai bus free of charge. Move quick, handful of seats left. Decent airline. Try booking offline (i.e. travelbag, trailfinders, usual experts). Or wait a month and fly Emirates.

Thanks for that Sam Bee. Could you let me know how to see how many seats are left with Etihad, and also that they through in a bus rife from Abu Dabi to Dubai. The current deal im looking at is £728.40, and its from 1 - 14 August. can you get it cheaper by moving a couple of days?

Thanks everyone for the advice so far already saved almost £200!!

Hi Snakeeyes, Sozza, problems with this website / work IP means I can't access easily (or reply to PM's) but hope you get this. We only ever see 4 seats in any class fare on Etihad, so unfortunately can't specifically say how many seats there are. There are plenty of economy seats on all those flights, but not so many at that price. Book now if you are happy with the price is all I would say. Your agent (again, more difficult online) can book you to / from XNB on Etihad, where XNB is the bus service to Dubai, and that is free of charge (note late arrival, early departure) on these buses - http://www.asiatraveltips.com/news06/102-CoachTravel.shtml. I havn't used them myself but I think it dumps you at the Etihad office in Dubai. I think return dates 14 / 16 August are the same price, and £728 is as good as you're going to get. Hope that helps.

In case the Etihad option fails for any reason, note that flights to the Far East on Gulf Air will almost certainly pass through Abu Dhabi, and most tickets will allow a stopover there.

Not any more. Gulf Air is now purely a Bahrain based airline, so everything is via there.

    Has anyone used

Flying Man>Abu Dhabi.>Singapore>Abu Dhabi comes in around £550, for the 1 -1 14 August. Just wondered if anyone had used them before?

If you end up paying that price, it would only be because they have made an error.

They don't have prices / availability that other companies don't. If you've been quoted that (and you have checked that they are suitably bonded and trustworthy - i've never heard of them) I would bite their hand off. If you do end up paying that, then do let us know!

It's going to be very, very hot in Dubai at that time of year - up to 50 degrees centigrade I believe
;) If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!
