none really :o about 10+ years ago when we started to lose contact he was seeing a lady who lived locally, but that was a long time ago & i'm fairly sure she's moved too now her daughter has grown up. I certainly wasnt close to her either so I have no way of contacting her either.

The annoying bit is I threw away an old filofax just last month as I never called any of the people in it anymore.... bet one of those old telephone numbers would have helped - heyho:confused:

Squashy & Davidscott... I will try those but he's just like my hubby allergic to anything remotely like a PC lol so doubt if much will come of it.

Hubbys boss has seen him a few times near were he lives which is near an industrial estate - we guess he must work there, so his wife is going to keep an eye out. He has a tendancy to be like the proverbial bad penny so I'm sure someone will trace him - its not just me trying to contact him after all...

  • if i were you i'd go asking at all the buildings on the industrial estate, if theres a good chance he works there.

    good luck!

Have you done the obvious stuff - eg if you think he works in the industrial estate, you could check the telephone directories for the areas within reasonable travelling distance of it. If you knew where his parents lived, you could check phone directories for that area (even if they have died there might be relations living in the same area with the same surname). You could google his name - even if he is PC phobic you just might get info which would help track down the area he lives in - eg if he played for a sports team, supported a charity, etc. The friends of his you mention - can you get there numbers via a phone book and ask them? You could send a letter addressed to him marked personal to every business on the industrial park. You could advertise the funeral arrangements in the paper and hope he sees it.

Whay not use https://www.192.com to search the electrol listings?

It will cost you just under £5 but it will save you the aggrivation of any other method.
  • I would agree with the above to try 192.com. I went on it last week and for £10 was able to find out where my fiance's ex-wife and son now live, who she lives with now and the date and name of the child she has had since. He hasn't been able to contact them in 12 years. Took me 10 mins. It's scary what you can find out on the internet.
