need to remove all my files

I need to get rid of my old hard drive, but before I do I need to make sure that all files are completely deleted and not be recovored back. Do you know how to do that? I heard that even if i delete the files from recycle bin, the files will still remain on your PC.

You can wipe a hard drive to DOD7(Dept of Defense standard) completely
irretrievable.

Ccleaner is a good all-round utility, and one I recommend everyone has, but if anyone wants their data shredding I personally use the (admittedly dody sounding) NecroFile:

But like people mentioned in the thread linked above - quite often a big fat hammer is the best way to ensure your hard drive isn't recoverable

Are you selling the hard drive? If so, what size is it?
