Cash in a cheque... from France, HELP!!

Hi all,

Moved to France two weeks ago and someone sent me British cheque in pounds with some money owed to me.

How can I cash it in? Any ideas? I don't want to wait until I'm back in the UK...

Assuming you have a bank account in France, you will still be able to pay it into your account but will probably be charged commission for exchanging it into Euros.

I do have an account in France and I still have my account in the UK. Do UK banks accept cash-in's by post?

Yes probably, I use A&L and they give pre-addressed envelopes, stick a paying-in-slip in with the cheque, and send it off. Stamp required!

Don't pay in cash by post though! Too risky

Great! I have an A&L account!!
I do have some payin slips here in my cheque book. Is the address in your envelopes: A&L plc, Bootle, Merseyside GIR 0AA ? Can you please confirm me this?
