I got home today and I had a plain postcard addressed to "The Occupier" and asking me to contact Alen at Wescot on 01482 380680 with a reference number.
I have got absolutely no idea what this could be about, I have one debt with a DCA which I am paying quite happily (on my part at least, they think that I should be paying more than £25per week, like that's gonna happen!)
The only thing I can think is that we rent and I know the previous tenant left debts because of the red letters arriving for her, I have just returned them to sender as I don't have a forwarding address.
I really really don't want to phone them, I have no desire to be spoken to in the very special manner that DCA's have!
My feeling is just to ignore them and wait for a proper letter, if they don't even know my name to put on the card, why should I respond?
Please can someone tell me what they think, I know I've probably answered my own question but a bit of back up for courage would be good! Sorry for rambling by the way!
So the occupier could be anyone.
Id be tempted to send them a postcard back somewhere really hot with just the words wish you were here on them and then just right the occupier underneath
I mean it could be anyone , the card could have been wrongly addresses, delivered etc i wouldnt ring anynumber given

I've also received a handwritten/scribbled postcard addressed to the occupier requesting me to call a number.
As I have no outstanding debts other than the obvious mortgage etc and have never missed/ been late with any payment what so ever this has got me a bit worried, but as others have stated I shall use it to start up the bbq tonite!:beer:0 -
Hello All,looks like the DCA`s are on a fishing expedition
all they do is fire off a load of "postcards" and see who bites by phoning them.
They obviously dont have names just addresses so hence the "Occupier" bit.
Never phone them as another Poster said an Occupier could be anyone.

I got home today to find at postcard from Wescot Credit Services addressed to the occupier asking me to phone claire on xxx. I'm guessing I'm ok to just ignore this as I don't have any outstanding debts and it's not actually addressed to me. Has anyone who's ever got one of these postcards ever heard anything from them again?

Anyone know how this ended up for Cabbagegrower ?
Ive had one of these postcards this morning...should I take it seriously ? (I had an argument with Westcot many years ago about an old GIO Internet bill which wasnt due. They told me (eventually) that the debt had been passed back to GIO as they could not substantiate it. Could this be the same thing again ?)

I received a postcard today..addressed to the occupier...they know my name & think i'm stupid enpough to ring them without doing my research...i have an IVA and my debts are being paid off through this..Wescot have been sending me letters for 18 months threatening court action etc..some of these letters are really nasty...i contact my IVA company each time & they phone Wescot..yet they still persist..according to the company handling my debt i am not to contact Wescot under any circumstances..they seem to be ignoring all the phone calls made to them...my worry is when my IVA is finished that i will not have any back up with these nasty people!!0
