Virgin Credit Card - Online Debit Card Payments

My payment is due on Fri 28th March and on the 22nd I logged onto my account and paid using my debit card. I normally just pay via BACS from my bank account.

I logged onto my account this morning and no payment as shown. I checked my bank and no payment had been made. I then went back to my Virgin account and paid the minimum payment just in case and I've just checked my bank and it looks like no payment is going through i.e. the available balance and balance is the same. So I transferred the minimum payment AGAIN via BACS. But thats going to take 3 working days, which would be Monday and my payment is due Friday.

Anybody else ever had this problem.... After I entered my debit card details and then confirmed my Natwest Card Password (think it's called SecureCode) I got a confirmation page thanking me for my payment.

I just know Virgin are going to charge me for a missed payment and cancel my interest free balance transfer rate.

Your original payment will be credited on Friday it's three working days.
The payment should appear online on Saturday

When will my payment credit my account?
Payments taken before 5pm Monday to Friday will be credited to your credit card account in two working days. Payments made after 5pm or weekends or bank holidays will be credited to your account in three working days

    Don't worry!

Leaving it until the last minute (Sat, Sun, and BH Monday getting in the way) may seem like good money saving, but as you've found out it can bring problems.

    So, what do you do?...

    1. Ring MBNA now, and tell them what's happened, from the thread to the eye of the needle. You need to get across to them your many attempts. Ask that they annotate your file (so that *if* your 0% rate is withdrawn you have more 'ammunition' to get it reinstated later).

    2. Whilst you're on the phone, ask to set up a minimum payment DD so it doesn't happen again. After all, it's only £25 (from month 2 onwards)...and for that you get complete peace of mind.
