Chainsaw chain slipping

I have a Mculloch electric chain saw. Shortly after I start cutting, the chain stops rotating. I suspect that the clutch or the sprocket teeth are worn. I have given it a good clean and adjusted the tension, even fitted a new chain.
Any ideas if this can be repaired and if so where / how much? I live in the North West.

Probably the drive sprocket, I changed one last year, £8, easy job, order the part from your local dealer. Make sure you have model and serial number.0

Hello, very rarely the drive spocket will cause this - more likely the chainsaws:- Chain is blunt / worn
- Chain adjustment is overtight
- Clutch drum or clutch springs worn / damaged
As for a blunt chain the best way to check is by the fitting of a new one or alternatively sharpen your existing chain blade.0 -
I tried a new chain, but made no difference. I took it to a repair centre and they said that the clutch and gears were stripped and was not worth repairing.0
