Where to drive in Dublin????

Hi Everyone I leave for a 3 day holiday to Dublin tomorrow morning! I have hired a car which I pick up at the airport. Can anyone reccommend where to drive? I want to visit the countryside and look at the beautiful scenery. My hotel is in the center and am worried about parking!

Thanks for any tips

Ross

Thats just what I was going to suggest:D

If you want stuff in the city, I've heard the Guiness factory is good.

Temple Bar is a lively area to visit in the evening.

When you drive from the airport to the centre, you will bypass the infamous Ballymun (I think the Commitments might have been filmed here, I think the bit with the horse in the tower block lift was anyway!) Look out for a load of massive tower blocks together, thats it. Don't worry you don't drive through it, just near it:D

You're right about the west coast, but Galway & Mayo are far superior to Limerick, :D:D but Bunratty Castle is a great day out;)

Kildare isn't far out of Dublin. Last time we went, in September, we stayed in that area. Visit the National Stud, which is fascinating if you have even a remote interest in horses. Kilkenny is also a pleasant town. We also got to Carlow, and drove through the Wicklow gap to the coast. Lovely part of the world!
