Try Direct Line.
I took out Home insurance with Direct Line last year and got a huge discount for a) being a new customer and b) joining online. Just been on their website looking for a Car insurance quote and they were massively lower than anyone else and claimed to be giving me another discount on that as I already have their Home insurance."Life is like a game of cards. Hi shykins,
By coincidence I renewed my house insurance today after receiving some junk mail from Llyods TSB Insurance. They have a promise to match your renewal quote, or pay you the difference up to £100. Plus they'll throw in £15 of M&S vouchers for contents, and another £15 for builidngs. You can also pay monthly with 0% interest.

For me, my renewal quote was cheaper than anything quoted on confused.com, so I was going to stick where I was. Lloyds have come along, will effectively match the price and throw in the vouchers on top, so I've switched to them. The policy is still underwritten by the same firm though, so it was easy to make sure that the new policy is not inferior to the old one in terms of cover.
Hope this helps,

P.s. Try confused.com for your car insurance too.0
