Veg box buyers opinions needed

Just found a local company who delivers Organic fruit and veg boxes where I lived, I asked for an example of what is in this weeks medium box (£12.50) It's been a while since we had box deliveries so wondered what you all think.
1 Jan King cabbage
1 Cauliflower
1/2 kg of carrots
1/2 kg yellow onions (approx 6 small)
1.5 kg Axona Red potatoes
1/2 kg Royal Gala apples (approx 4)
1/2 kg Fairtrade bananas (approx 3 large)
1/2 kg Blood oranges (approx 3 large)
1/2 kg William pears (approx 4)
I was wondering if anyone could give examples of what they get and for how much or state if they think this is ok value. Delivery is free on regular orders over £15 which I would just top up with eggs/milk/cheese, get a slightly larger box or more veg so no 'extras' to add on.
Thanks you all

1.08kg potatoes
420g (3) onions
365g purple sprouting broccoli
435g (6) tomatoes
265g (1) aubergine
570g (1) cauliflower
445g (5) leeks
600g (8) carrots
1 kg (6) bananas
1 cucmber
This costs me £10 including free delivery. I do actually have a £7 veg box and add in the cucumber and bananas as extras.
My company doesn't have any dairy etc so if you get that option as well that is good.
The above amount is about right on veg for us but I do buy a sack of potatoes each month as well from the farm shopMy self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
Thanks for your response, much appreciated. Is that box organic? Just trying to be 'fair' when comparing prices. One day I might be more organised...........

Yes it is, and all apart from obvious imports are grown either on their own farm or their sister farm.see here
My box travels approx 35 miles to get to me but that is the closest scheme; so is local in that respect. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).

Hi lil-me,
My veg box costs £8.99 and this week I'll be getting:
Boxes delivered w/c 24th March are expected to contain 1.5kg Valor potatoes (Bedfordshire), bunch carrots (Bedfordshire), January King cabbage (Bedfordshire), white cauliflower (Bedfordshire), 2 parsnips (Bedfordshire), bunch parsley (Bedfordshire), 4 tomatoes (Hertfordshire).
I'm lucky to get free delivery as the company delivers to my place of work (about 10 boxes of so a week).
Could you go in with others to minimise delivery costs?

Delivery is free when you order over £15 as long as it's on the day they cover my area, which is fine for me.
Thanks for the replies, interesting knowing how it compares. I'm such a 'MSE addict' now that I won't do as I did before and just order it without looking into it firsttight as a kippers wotsit as some might say

Looking at current prices for organic fruit and veg, they don't seem too bad value to me. Aswell many are locally sourced produce. Maybe you could pass on examples of what you buy on a weekly basis, where it's sourced and how much you pay so we can compare them?
Thanks for the responses, very interesting. One day I might be more organised...........

I'm about to ditch mine at least in the short term.
I pay £13 a week (split with my mum) for:
5/6 pots
5/6 carrots
3 or 4 small onions
6 eggs
then this weeks variables were:
2 oranges
100g mushrooms
a small savoy
3 small leeks
small head of broc
Its excellent quality, i just can't justify the expense at present.
Hope the comparison helps lil me0
