Setting up a network drive

Ive got an 80gb ide hard drive lying around, if it still works could i set it up as a network drive,

What do you mean by network drive?
Seeing as it is an internal drive you could just put it in your PC (asuming you have the space) and share the whole drive.
Or do you want an external enclosure for it with Ethernet etc?0 -

As long as it is installed properly and the BIOS recognises it, Windows will detect it, and if it is already partitioned (I'm sure it will be as it is probably an old drive?), it will appear as a new drive letter.
Of course there are dozens of factors involved, but that is the most likely scenario.0 -
