Connecting Xbox 360 to live via router.

I've been Money Tipped!
Here's the situation.

I have a 360 that was connected to live at my old house via ethernet cable to my pc which shared the internet connection.

My live subscription expired and I didn't bother with it for a while.

Now I live in a new home and I've recently set up a wireless home internet connection with a netgear router and a laptop.

Am I right in assuming that I can connect to xbox live by using my 48hr live trial and plugging my 360 straight into router via ethernet?
