Hi,

I was wondering if there is a way i can watch the videos on my PC on my lcd HD ready tv?

I by this i mean i just click on the file and it will open up on the tv and not the pc?

I have a PC point on the back of my tv aswell as a spare port on my graphics card.

Any help would be great.

Yes, should be no problem. If you have the choice, use a DVI rather than a VGA connection as it should be simpler to configure. The TV should have a "source" selector, and will act like a monitor if you select the PC input.

One issue that you may have though is that your PC's monitor and the LCD TV are likely to have a different resolution (in terms of number of pixels) and aspect ratio, and many cheaper graphics cards cannot generate outputs with different resolutions on the two ports. So you may have to make a compromise there (i.e. if the image is optimal on the TV it won't be on the PC monitor, or vice versa).

I just dont know how to select to view the video on my TV. Or will it do that as soon as i go to PC output on my tv?

When you have connected the PC to the TV go into Control Panel > Display the select the settings tab.

Select the monitor number 2 and check the extend my windows desktop to this monitor.

Open your media player and drag it over to your tv and maximise it. Close the media player. It should them always open on the TV as default.
The only way of finding the limits of the possible is by going beyond them into the impossible.
