Utility Tarting

How much has everyone "tarted" with their Gas and Electric? We switched last July to Powergen and pocketed £50ish cashback and cheaper bills, Powergen are still cheapest for us so I'm not going anywhere just yet. But I'm quite interested in how many times and how often people have switched suppliers...

I check and if needed change once every 12 to 18 months
How frequently can one change> is there a minimum contracted period? I switched about 4 months ago and my bill is no longer competitive0 -
No worries - change again.0

Technically every 28 days, but you would need to be right on top of things. Send in readings every month, know want you owe at all times, no fixed tariff. Even then you would get in a muddle because of other data 'catch-up'.And you need to wait until you get the cashback which is often 3 months. So probably 4 times a year...say the £92 from Quidco for Scottish Power, £30 from Energyhelpline, £50 from Greasy Palm and £30 from Moneysupermarket. And if you spent money on insulation that would drive your consumption down so you couldn't take advantage of the lower tier rates, and some providers like Ebico don't play ball anyway.
Nice if you can make it work.0
