Fitting new toilet and sink - do it myself??

much easier when you dont need to mess around with the old type of overflow, yes just cut the old one off. where the loo fits into the soil pipe at the back, you can get a connecter that is a bit like a concertina, if you have to jiggle it a bit to fit, this may help. and as already mentioned with any plumbing, put valves everywhere, you never know, in the future may help if you need to do any more work.A good cowboy always drinks upstream from the herd.

I would definately romove the toilet and then tile as it is much easier.
To remove the toilet see here- http://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/diy/plumbing/toilet/removal.htm
To fit new one-

Watch out for the soil pipe connection being too low on your new toilet, if it is you will have to adjust the soil pipe to suit or lift the toilet.0 -
Just wanted to say thanks for all the help on this thread and announce the safe installation of my new toilet! It all went really well, the old one slid out easily (phew! no broken soil pipe) and the flexible connectors made plumbing in the cistern and soil pipe surprisingly easy. I'm so pleased! :T
Hope yours went well too, Lynne! :beer:0
