not too sure how this will come across but here goes..
does anyone know the best thing for getting blood off a matress? (plllease dont ask)
i told him to throw it away as its disgusting but he's only had it 3 months and it cost him £250 (its not a latex one if that helps)
Many thanks on his behalf

Squirt oxyclean on to the stain (either make up a solution from the powder or be posh and use the ready made kind) - it should vanish before your friends eyes; if not, tell him to rub with a damp towel (more absorbant than other cloths) and squirt it again. It'll probably make the bed damp, but he can just turn the mattress, and lay the damp bit on a dry towel until it dries out. Make sure he uses cool water because warm water will 'set' the stain. If all else fails, he could always sleep on the clean side of the mattress and try not to think about the stain.0

Not matress, but: Removing blood from a carpet0

I successfully done this in the past using Stain Devils no.2 which is suitable for blood.
