hotel that sleeps 2adults, 3 kids milton keynes or brum?

Hi!

In July we are travelling down from Cumbria to Cornwall for our holiday. It's going to be a 7-8 hour drive so we were hoping to set off the day before and stay over in a hotel the night before somewhere half way which will be somewhere around Milton Keynes or Birmingham.

However I am struggling to find anywhere that will sleep us all, the kids are only 4,5 and 6 so if we had to get 2 rooms then the adults would need to split up and we don't really want to do that as we can't get to sleep when the other isn't there (bless, lol)

Surely there must be somewhere?

Google isn't really helping me.

We had this problem when looking to book abroad too, a family is classed as 4 :(

Thanks
Sarah

I would have said that you would be making a considerable detour to end up at Milton Keynes.

Search on laterooms.com for a room sleeping 5. You haven't said when you are travelling but I randomly chose mid July and it shows availability.

Once you have found suitable properties you can theen see if you can get a cheaper price elsewhere.

haha i am not good at geography but I put my start point and destination on mapquest and following the direct line that comes up as my route, it appears that we pass Milton keynes and birmingham

Maybe not... good job I won't be driving, lol

Still not sure how it showed Milton Keynes, lol. I use AAautoroute - I wasn't sure of your location but entered a route from Kendal to Looe as an example.

    Hi...

we spent 2 nights at the Innkeepers Lodge in Castleton last Weds/Thurs,

We checked with the hotel directly (not the central reservations) before we booked to see whether they would let us have 3 kids in the family room, and they said yes, as long as they werent teenagers!!

The room was only £29 per night including continental breakfast for everyone! (booked on their advanced saver rate... http://www.innkeeperslodge.com/offers.asp?id=8 )

They have a few hotels not far from the M6/M5 corridor:-

Definitely worth ringing up and asking the hotel directly.
